Today, in this
blog post we are going to explain the procedure to do Chromecast setup with the connectify
hotspot. We all know that Chromecast is a streaming media player that uses the Wi-Fi
connection to stream videos and other contents from the connected device like
mobile phone, laptop, and tablet. So, we
can say that its whole functionality depends on the internet connection and its
speed.
Setting up
Chromecast with your TV and mobile device is quite easy and it requires only
one time Google com Chromecast setup. All
you need to do is just plug the Chromecast stick into the HDMI port of your TV
with the help of HDMI cable and connector provided with the Chromecast itself.
After this setup, you are ready to move forward. Connect your Chromecast with
the Wi-Fi network available at your place. This is again simple to connect to
Wi-Fi network. In the case of any help,
you can visit www chromecast com setup
page from your computer and read the guided instructions from there.
If you are traveling to another
place with your Chromecast device, the same Wi-Fi network will not work
on it. You need to connect to the different Wi-Fi network that will be
available there.
Connectify
Hotspot acts as a medium between the
network and your device that helps you to connect to the internet within a
fraction of seconds. With this technique, you don’t need to connect to the
different network at a different place.
Rather you only require to proceed setup of your device, hence the media will
start streaming on your device without any problem. You will even find no need
to take support from the Chromecastsupport center in this regard.
But, there are
some limitations in this set up about whom you must be aware of. These are
mentioned below. You must read them carefully.
- Google cast may get bewildered if the same connectify Hotspot is being run on your computer. So, to avoid this confusion, it is advisable to use your phone or phablet to run the Google Chrome cast setup.
- The inbuilt Wi-Fi standard of Chromecast device doesn’t support 5 GHz Wi-Fi. If the connectify uses a 5 GHz, then this will not be tracked by your Chromecast device.
Now we are going
to discuss the steps to connect the Chromecast to
the Connectify Hotspot:
- Plug the Chromecast into the TV with the help of HDMI port and use your mobile phone to run the setup.
- Under connectify settings tab, setup your Hotspot. If you are using a Routed hotspot, then the Chromecast must be connected to connectify hotspot. However, if the network is Ethernet or Wi-Fi, then use the Bridge network to share the same Wi-Fi network with the other devices available on the same location. Once connected, click on the ‘Start Hotspot’.
- Join the same connectify with your phone.
- Run Google cast from the phone.
- Follow the guided instructions on the screen until you get connected to your Wi-Fi network. Enter the password of your network for authentication and click ‘OK’.
- Your Chromecast is now connected to the Hotspot and you can now enjoy media streaming on it.
Note: All these
steps need to be done for the first time only. If you are sitting at home and
connected to the Hotspot, then while moving out if you forget to change the Hotspot,
then there is no need to worry, simply plug the Chromecast into the available TV and connect to the Wi-Fi
network. If you are getting any problem in connecting to the Wi-Fi network,
then resetting the Chromecast may solve the problem.
